Tortois and the Hare 50K Trail Run in Blue Ridge Georgia d
Blue Ridge, Georgia
November 15, 2014 - November 15, 2014
A New Twist on an Old Tale. We have an exciting race coming to you in the mountain trails of Blue Ridge, GA just a short drive north of Atlanta. The great thing about the sport of running is the camaraderie among runners. In a typical race the faster runner (Hare) arrives long before the middle/back of the pack and the slower runner (Tortoise) arrives as the party is ending. How about a race where everyone finishes (approximately) at the same time?! Introducing…the TORTOISE and the HARE 50K™! Runners will submit their estimated finishing time (formula to follow) and that will determine your starting time, with runners starting in hourly waves – Tortoises first! The slower you are, the earlier you begin and the faster you are, the later you begin with the same goal: Finishing at 3PM. This will bring everyone to the finish in a small time frame so there will be lots of fellow runners to celebrate your finish! (Of course, the winners will still be those that complete the course in the fastest time.) The TORTOISE and the HARE 50K™ will be held on November 15, 2014. This will be second and final race in the Tortoise and the Hare Trail Series. This race will likely be full, so you’ll want to mark your calendar for Open Registration day to secure your spot! Registration will open on Ultrasignup on 4/4/2014. For information on the Blue Ridge area for lodging you can visit: www.blueridgemountains.com Tortoise and the Hare Racing 678-400-9050
